Good news! Another visitor from across the pond recently discovered us, and this time he didn't complain about the smokiness of Mac's Club Deuce. Enter Sam Farley –Gonzo traveler– seeker of "unusual destinations", writer for U.K. magazine Far Out, and in this case, the column World's Best Boozers. Sam gets it and hit almost all the important notes when it comes to sharing The Deuce with his readers:

  • The Deuce is NOT a "grog-hole" (more on that below)

  • pool table

  • jukebox

  • cheap, cold beer and drinks

  • the majesty of our U shaped bar

  • Cash Only

  • unforgettable staff

  • oldest bar in Miami (if you haven't heard, we're throwing a shindig September 5, 2026 to celebrate)

  • friendliest crowd

  • the legend of Mac Klein

  • open for early mornings and late nights (open 8:00AM-5:00AM)

  • irresistible merchandise (although he didn't buy any? maybe Sam will hit up the online shop)

  • no cover and no guest list

  • Bourdain Approved

We said Sam almost hit all the important details and we're not sure how he missed out on our 2-4-1 Happy Hour, served 7 days a week 8:00AM–5:00PM.

In case you're wondering –because we were– "The term "grog-hole" was used to describe a "low-class or disreputable drinking shop, tavern, or hole-in-the-wall where cheap liquor (grog) was served". The term was first introduced in the prominent cultural and literary periodical The Knickerbocker in 19th-century New York in 1841. Sam makes clear: The Deuce is NOT a grog-hole. Instead, we're his new favorite dive bar with a "lived-in Americana" feel that believes in serving cold beer and cheap drinks. Thanks Sam!
