Miami is frequently featured in movies and television series. Miami Vice brought the glitz and grit of Miami to American households on Friday nights in 1984–1989. Members of the film crew frequented Mac's Club Deuce which was often featured in the series; most notably, thirty years ago today, in the series finale, Freefall, Season 5 Episode 17 Part 1. 

Laine Doss over at Miami New Times has all the places you want to hit on the beach during SOBEWFF this weekend. While we don't kiss and tell in real time, we always appreciate a post and a mention after the fact. One of are all time favs is Chef Anne Burrell who shared with Doss, "It may be a total dive bar, but there is just something that I love, love, love about Club Deuce!” To that chef's kiss we raise our glass.

Having visited Miami during Art Basel before, Ian decided he wanted to keep his work "specific to Miami". With a passion for "documenting places that are at the heart of communities while all else changes", Mac's Club Deuce is the perfect place. Ian appreciated the challenge The Deuce's interior would give him with the lights beaming off different surfaces and the multiple reflections from the mirrored walls.

While most in Miami love being thought of as younger than they truly are, The Deuce wears it's years like a badge of honor. While our beloved Mac Klein put his name on The Deuce fifty-four years ago, Club Deuce has been around since before it was legal (again) to sell alcohol; established in 1926. In a tribute to one of our favorite Deucers, Anthony Bourdain, writer Ryan Pfeffer offered a bit of history on the love the celebrity chef had for Mac Klein and his bar Mac's Club Deuce. With more insight than most, Ryan looks back at the kinship of Bourdain and Klein, both singing the accolades of the other. Taylor doesn't say how the group stumbled upon our little slice of paradise in the middle of chaos, but she appreciated our "unashamed and glorious" bar with Its 2-4-1 happy hour. Moral of the story. Stick with Mac's.

Surprised that we even have a phone, Time Out Miami gave Mac's Club Deuce a four star review, just in time for spring break. It seems our "all are welcome" philosophy is appreciated at TO Miami. We're not sure what's not to love about our "charming out of character" bar, maybe if we ditch the phone we'll get that fifth star.

As Hurricane Irma nears, Univision looks back to when the National Guard shutdown Mac's Club Deuce after Andrew in 1992. The costliest hurricane to date (until Katrina), Andrew devastated Key Biscayne, Coral Gables, and Kendall leveled, left South Beach flooded and without electricity. Big ups to Celia Almeida for including Mac's Club Deuce among the top ten dive bars in Miami! We are honored to be named among some of Miami's most authentic establishments. With no-frills and unpretentious vibes all around, it's possible to carry on your spontaneous misadventures at any one of these fine watering holes.

Is it just us or did someone over at HistoryMiami Museum know today was the perfect day (222 Day) to drop a story that included Mac's Club Deuce?

We believe every good story starts at Mac's Club Deuce and it seems Scottish author J. B. Turner agrees. Often mentioned in newspapers and magazines, this time The Deuce is featured in a novel! Turner included everyone's favorite dive in his latest Jon Reznick thriller.

In the recently published New York Times article Partying in South Beach Like It's $19.99 writer Lucas Peterson goes on the hunt for a night out on a budget. We can't say that we were surprised when Lucas declared his $5 Miller Lite to be "the cheapest drink in South Beach" he would find. Lucas found The Deuce to be the perfect contrast to the world outside its doors.
