We love this time of year, not just for the holiday, also for Art Basel Miami and Miami Art Week. This year artist Ian Berry is showing his work based on Mac's Club Deuce. Before talking about these lovely works of art we did a deep dive on Ian and his medium of choice; denim. It's fitting that a young man from Huddersfield, UK–once a textile industry behemoth–connects with denim as a medium. It started with a "simple observation", of the "contrasting shades of blue" in an "old pile of jeans". Soon after Ian was included in multiple writings about art, denim, and their crossover.

Having visited Miami during Art Basel before, Ian decided he wanted to keep his work "specific to Miami". With a passion for "documenting places that are at the heart of communities while all else changes", Mac's Club Deuce is the perfect place. Ian appreciated the challenge The Deuce's interior would give him with the lights beaming off different surfaces and the multiple reflections from the mirrored walls.

See Ian's work at Scope Art Fair, Miami Beach Pavilion, 801 Ocean Drive, Booth A11 Red Truck Gallery. Read more at Ian Berry.
