Is it just us or did someone over at HistoryMiami Museum know today was the perfect day (222 Day) to drop a story that included Mac's Club Deuce?

We believe every good story starts at Mac's Club Deuce and it seems Scottish author J. B. Turner agrees. Often mentioned in newspapers and magazines, this time The Deuce is featured in a novel! Turner included everyone's favorite dive in his latest Jon Reznick thriller.

While in Miami researching her upcoming book Fringe Florida Lynn Waddell stumbled upon Mac's Club Deuce. It was 2009 and Lynn was looking for "the state's unusual and sometimes illicit subcultures" when she found something else; friends. She described The Deuce as something straight out of a Damon Runyon novel; we agree. Looking past her setting, she found the lunch-time crowd full of friends, you know them as Deucers. Miami Design Preservation League and Close-Up Productions sat down with our legendary proprietor Mac Klein for the Miami Beach Visual Memoir project. In collaboration with Florida International University Collections and Miami Metropolitan Archive Oral History Collection, Kathy Hersh and the Close-Up Production team spent an afternoon with Mac in his office at Mac's Club Deuce.

It's not the first time we've heard the likes of Keith Richards and Mac's Club Deuce in the same sentence. We can not confirm or deny. However, we can say, we know a man. Come find out for yourself.
