Don't Blink
Blink and you might miss the mention of Mac's Club Deuce in Frommer's article The Bar Scene in Miami. We only kiss and tell years after, but we agree with Frommer's when it comes to stargazing in South Beach at The Deuce.

UMTV hits The Deuce
Erika Orstad from UMTV stopped by Mac's Club Deuce recently to talk with Mac Klein, bartenders, and patrons alike. Highlighting Mac, this interview proves, age is just a number as he recently celebrated his 101st birthday.

Mac Klein 101
Be certain to check out Ryan Pfeffer and Laurie Charles' latest article in the Miami New Times. The two stopped by Mac's Club Deuce recently, sitting down with Mac Klein to learn more about his and the bar's history. Along the way they also spoke to a number of our favorites to get their take on the bar's history.
We'll kick off this history lesson with a bit of math. If you don't already know, you will learn that Mac Klein was one of the 16 million Americans to serve in W

Legendary Friends
It's been nearly a decade since Anthony Bourdain first walked into The Deuce and struck up a conversation with Mac Klein. There isn't a visit to Miami that Anthony doesn't stop to see his friend Mac. He does just that for the Miami episode of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, now in it's fifth season. It's fitting that Bourdain opened the episode with Mac, a man who celebrated his 100th this past year. With over fifty years as the sole proprietor of Mac's Club Deuce and nearly

Bourdain's Notes
Anthony Bourdain is a man with many notes. Taken of decades in the kitchen and beyond, Anthony is an observer of the world around him. Bourdain's notes are also personal, like these, thanking Mac Klein, Iggy Pop, Michelle Bernstein, and Questlove for sharing their Miami with him.

Cooper and Bourdain in the kitchen
Some say the best stories are told in two places; in the kitchen and at a bar. Anderson Cooper and Anthony Bourdain talk the latest episode of Parts Unknown–Miami–while making a meal. We love the fact that even in the two minute fifty-four second clip, it is impossible for Bourdain to NOT mention our very own Mac Klein and we don't blame him.

Forever No. 2
This week staff writers at Miami New Times came up with a list of 100 Things to Do in Miami Before You Die. They joined forces at The Deuce devising their list on the back of our coasters as they downed cold beer and cheap drinks. At least, that's our story and we're sticking to it. Chances are high Deucers have crossed many of these things off their list; or at minimum numbers 2 and 25.
We are, Forever No. 2

Friends, whoever they may be that day
While in Miami researching her upcoming book Fringe Florida Lynn Waddell stumbled upon Mac's Club Deuce. It was 2009 and Lynn was looking for "the state's unusual and sometimes illicit subcultures" when she found something else; friends. She described The Deuce as something straight out of a Damon Runyon novel; we agree. Looking past her setting, she found the lunch-time crowd full of friends, you know them as Deucers. Walking in, Lynn knew no one, a condition our special bar

It's magic
This week Miami New Times profiled 30 of the most interesting people in Miami. Of course our own Mac Klein was crowned The King of Club Deuce. If Mac is the King of 222 14th Street than The Deuce is is Queen. He shared his humble begins, his service in World War II, and what lead him to Miami Beach where in 1964 he purchased Club Deuce. From the beginning, Mac had no intention of "changing a hair on this beautiful woman's head". For fifty years Mac has maintained its magic an

Too Good Not to Post
We stumbled across the Mac's Club Deuce bars & pubs directory listing in South Beach Magazine and it's just too good to not to post. We're guessing the editors have never joined us at the bar. What say you Deucers?

1 of 9
There are just as many ideas of what makes a bar a dive as there are dive bars in America. CNN decided that a dive bar "includes decades of history and everything from octogenarian bartenders and surly bouncers to pooping chickens and giggling ghosts." and "most are neighborhood standbys". Were you checking the boxes while reading that last statement? We were and are delighted to be 1 of 9 classic U.S. dive bars.

Lovers at The Deuce
It's never to early to talk about making Valentine's Day plans. Miami is swarming with places to take a date on Valentine's Day and Eater Miami offers even more. We see lovers at The Deuce all the time, so it's not surprising to find Mac's on a list of the best dive bars in town. Valentine's Day or any day is a good one to bring your love in for a drink or two.

In good company
Someone once said, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." We agree with Bueller and apparently so does Eater Miami. Mac's Club Deuce is in good company when it comes to dive bars in Miami, so when it looks like we'll lose one, we all notice. We'll raise a glass for Scotty's Landing and hope you'll join us.

Smoke and mirrors
Dave Hoeksta from the Chicago Sun-Times reminisces about a recent visit to Mac's Club Deuce while in town for a Cubs-Marlins game. It wasn't his first time at The Deuce and hopefully not his last. Dave tells the story of John Hughes introducing him to Mac's when he (John) lived here, writing for the old Miami News. Dave uses the phrase smoke and mirrors and for many that's a literal description. We have a feeling it means a little more coming from Dave.

It's all about The Deuce
On his latest trip to Mac's Club Deuce, Anthony brought along one of our neighbors, legendary tattoo artist Chris Garver from Miami Ink. Like Bourdain, we consider Garver a friend of The Deuce and like true Deucers these two stopped by for a day beer after Chris provided Anthony with his latest tattoo. Whether you live or vacation in Miami, stop by and see why Anthony Bourdain says, "It's all about The Deuce."
