Today, like every September 19th, we celebrate the birthday of Mac Klein. Mac didn't just put his name to Club Deuce when he bought it in 1964; he put his heart and soul in this gem of a joint. Mac knew what mattered; building a community one drink, one story, on day at a time. So join us for Mac Klein Day 2021 as we enjoy a drink n his honor and share stories of this legend of a man.

Miami is frequently featured in movies and television series. Miami Vice brought the glitz and grit of Miami to American households on Friday nights in 1984–1989. Members of the film crew frequented Mac's Club Deuce which was often featured in the series; most notably, thirty years ago today, in the series finale, Freefall, Season 5 Episode 17 Part 1. 

Laine Doss over at Miami New Times has all the places you want to hit on the beach during SOBEWFF this weekend. While we don't kiss and tell in real time, we always appreciate a post and a mention after the fact. Having visited Miami during Art Basel before, Ian decided he wanted to keep his work "specific to Miami". With a passion for "documenting places that are at the heart of communities while all else changes", Mac's Club Deuce is the perfect place. Surprised that we even have a phone, Time Out Miami gave Mac's Club Deuce a four star review, just in time for spring break. It seems our "all are welcome" philosophy is appreciated at TO Miami. We're not sure what's not to love about our "charming out of character" bar, maybe if we ditch the phone we'll get that fifth star.

As Hurricane Irma nears, Univision looks back to when the National Guard shutdown Mac's Club Deuce after Andrew in 1992. The costliest hurricane to date (until Katrina), Andrew devastated Key Biscayne, Coral Gables, and Kendall leveled, left South Beach flooded and without electricity.
